Inspiration! Roundup: Exhausted is not the new chic, tchaikovsky vs. nayoung, and 8-year-old academics

This Week's "I want to go to there":
It's that time of year. All I want is to cozy up in a comfy bed.

Exhausted is Not the New Chic

Commenter Tentative Equinox suggests that this quote might come from Fred Babb. Check out the website - I think maybe she's right.
Connected

“If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything.”
– Alan Watts

Is Your Name Really Harder than Tchaikovsky?

This is a wonderful article about how we look at names. Apparently names like Nayoung and Wang are too difficult or uncomfortable to pronounce, but not Tchaikovsky or Schwarzenegger. I wonder why?

Utsukushiki Tennen

This is one of the most interesting short animated films I've ever seen. Made with clay and sand, it's beautiful and full of little, joyful surprises.

8-Year-Old Academic

This could be the best, cutest, and most inspiring headline I've ever read: an 8-year-old published her first paper in an academic journal about her love of bugs.

People of Craft

Do you like looking at pretty things on the internet? People of Craft is a site devoted to the beautiful art, craft, and handiwork created by people of colour. Obviously, this can be a go-to if you're looking for a designer for a project, but it's also a great place to look at nice things. Like this awesome comic work by Maria Qamar:

  1. I bet the author of the quote is Fred Babb. I had a mug with Go To Your Studio and Make Stuff picture on one half and a creativity manifesto on the other half. The style of handwriting plus boxing out words was exactly like this. Check out this one and see if you think so. https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/418623727845113711/
