Documentation Matters

“Document the moments you feel most in love with yourself – what you’re wearing, who you’re around, what you’re doing. Recreate and repeat.
— Warsawn Shire

This is one of the principles I share in my book, Feeling Better: A Field Guide to Liking Yourself. It seems like we shouldn't have to write down the activities we love doing, the things that make us feel connected to who we really are, but it also seems apparent that we (or at least I) have trouble remembering them. Keep a list. Do it again.

(PS: Guess what will NEVER be on this list? Scrolling Instagram or bingeing on Netflix, but guess what I do the most?)

Vorja Sanchez

I just came across Vorja Sanchez's work and I LOVE it! So delicate and creepy and beautiful.

Do the Thing - the Whole Thing

"If you don't have time to clean up, you don't have time to cook."
-Seth Godin

Ooooh boy, this notion could change the way I do a LOT of things. The project isn't finished until it's cleaned up - whatever that means.

Danielle Krysa

I fell in love with Danielle Krysa's artwork when I saw her pieces in the Vancouver Mural Festival (two awesome murals involving Queen Elizabeth and brightly-coloured polka dots), and have been following her on Instagram since. The pieces are generally very simple collage/painting combos with some hilariously clever captions.
