This Week's "I want to go to there": a cute dog! Wearing glasses! I don't know it's weird and cute and cozy at the same time. That seems nice. Photo by Brianna Santellan. |
Signs, Signs, Everywhere the Signs
Artist Michael Pederson puts little signs in unexpected places, turning the world around us into a mysteriously exciting place.
Look After Yourself
I know the rest of the internet can't wait for autumn, what with the sweater weather and the pumpkin spice-everything, but summer has a hold on my heart. However, it does seem like the best time to curl up and take care of yourself. Here are some suggestions from Do Lectures (via Swiss Miss):
1 Celebrate small things
2 Celebrate big things
3 Don’t compare
4 Make time for exercise
5 Eat well
6 Look for the good
7 Stop being so hard on yourself
8 Have some rest. Don’t feel guilty about it
9 Give yourself a pat on the back
10 Bed early
Collage
Rozenn Le Gall's collage art, made from 70's magazines, is two-syllable stunning. (That's "stu-nning!")*
*I just realized, upon re-reading this, that "stunning" is already two syllables, without me doing anything to how it's said. So I guess I really meant that they are stunning with a lot of emphasis on each syllable? I don't know. I'm a little disappointed.
Learn Like Yo-Yo Ma
Yo-Yo Ma is pretty good at playing the cello. (Ha! Pretty good! That's funny because he is actually the best in the world.) His advice on how to get that good at things? Learn a little bit at a time.
It's a good reminder that incremental improvement is a) still improvement, b) absolutely better than zero improvement, and c) actually gets you farther in the end than binge-improvement.
Missing You
This artful little statement made me stop to consider what it is actually trying to say, which is always fun.
