I received a number of lovely birthday wishes, one being, of course, from my mom. She called while she was on the way to the spa with my aunt where they were going to get massages and other pampering done. After joking that THEY were going to the spa on MY birthday while I was stuck at WORK, my aunt pointed out that this was the anniversary of the date my mom did a whole lot of work so that I could exist.
I really couldn't argue with that point. (Nor did I want to.)
So now I think that birthdays should always include some kind of celebration of the mother who birthed that dang kid.
