Singalong! Voices Carry by 'Til Tuesday

First of all, what's the deal with the band name 'Til Tuesday?  Really, I'm not making a joke, I just think it's got to be one of the worst band names ever.  I first heard this song when it was on a mix CD my CAPP* teacher gave me in grade 12.  I realize that sounds borderline inappropriate, but I can assure you there was nothing sketchy going on in the least.  I think he made them for a few people in the class, and not all girls.  Anyways, I listened and was somehow enchanted by this song.  At first I thought it was Cyndi Lauper, which is just always a great thing, but then discovered it was some totally different band.  There's something in the deep angstiness of her voice, and the whole thing is just tragic - this woman who loves her man, but he wants to keep it under wraps.  I think I connected with it as chronically insecure teenager who assumed no one would ever love me.  (Don't worry, I've gotten over that now.)

*CAPP for those of you who didn't grow up in BC, is Career and Personal Planning.  That's where we would learn about everything from career options and managing finances to the dangers of drugs and sex.  I equate it to what I gather health class and homeroom are for in America.
